This recipe is the exact recipe for the chocolate chip cookies minus the chocolate chips. Children absolutely love the simplicity of flavor in these cookies, especially when colored sugar is sprinkled on top!


6 T.           Butter, softened

6 T.           Sugar

1/4 c.        Brown Sugar

1 lg.          Egg

1/2 t.         Vanilla extract - I use Spice Islands

1 3/4 c.     T.G.I.G.F! Baking Mix

1/2 t.         Baking soda

1/4 t.         Salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl cream together on medium speed the butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, blend well on medium speed. In a medium bowl combine T.G.I.G.F! Mix, baking soda, and salt, stir to combine. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and blend on medium until fully combined. Using a small scoop, scoop out dough and place dough balls on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 7-10 minutes.  We like soft cookies, so ours cook about 7 - 8  minutes, if you prefer a crispier cookie bake them longer.
