The perfect appetizer, delicious served with marinara or pizza sauce.

8             Mozzarella or Cheddar Cheese Sticks

1 c.         Fresh T.G.I.G.F! Bread Crumbs

1/4 c.      T.G.I.G.F! Mix

1 1/2 t.    Italian Seasoning

1/2 t.       Garlic Powder

2 lg.        Eggs, beaten


Prepare bread crumbs by placing 2-3 slices of T.G.I.G.F! Bread in the bowl of a food processor, pulse until fine crumbs form. Add T.G.I.G.F! Baking and Bread Mix, Italian seasoning and garlic powder, pulse until combined. Pour fresh bread crumb mixture into a shallow dish.  In a small bowl beat 2 large eggs.  Dip one cheese stick at a time into egg, then into fresh bread crumb mixture, once more into the eggs and lastly into the bread crumb mixture. Repeat until all are coated. Lay coated cheese sticks in a single layer on a plate and place in the freezer for 10 minutes to allow the breading to firm up. Pour enough olive oil in a large skillet so that it will reach 1/2 way up each cheese stick. Heat oil over medium-high heat. You can also use a deep fryer. If frying in a pan fry about 1-2 minutes per side, if using a deep fryer it takes approximately 3-5 minutes total. The cheese will start to ooze out a little when they are done. Serve with your favorite marinara sauce, absolutely delicious!
