The quintessential all American dessert. T.G.I.G.F! Baking and Bread Mix makes the perfect pie crust. Use this recipe for any flavor of pies you wish, simply change the filling.

2 c.         T.G.I.G.F! Mix

3/4 c.      Unsalted butter OR Shortening

5-6 T.      Milk

Apple Filling

4 c.         Apples, thinly sliced and peeled

1/2 c.      Granulated sugar

1 1/2 T.   T.G.I.G.F! Mix

1/2 t.       Cinnamon

2 t.          Lemon juice

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. There are some things that help me achieve the perfect pie crust, they are: an 11" zippered pie crust bag, rolling pin, pastry blender and a pie crust shield. In a large bowl cut the butter or shortening into the T.G.I.G.F! mix until coarse crumbs form. Add the milk one tablespoon at a time until all ingredients come together to form dough. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes. Peel and slice apples, place in a large bowl, pour sugar, T.G.I.G.F! mix, cinnamon and lemon juice over sliced apples. Stir with a spoon to coat the apples, set aside. Lightly coat the top and bottom of pie crust bag or coat two sheet of wax paper with oil. Place a little more than 1/2 of the dough into center of pie crust bag, zip shut and roll out with rolling pin until dough covers entire bag. Unzip the bag and carefully place open side down over pie pan and peel bag from the dough, leaving the pie pan covered with circle of dough. Fill the pie crust with coated apple slices. Place remaining disc of dough into lightly greased pie crust bag and roll until dough covers entire bag, unzip bag and lay open side onto top of apples and gently peel bag from dough. Using your fingers, pinch the side of pie crust dough together in a crimping motion until all edges are joined together. Cut small slits in top of pie crust to vent. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes in preheated 375 degree oven then place pie crust shield on edges of pie and continue to bake an additional 20-30 minutes until light golden brown.
